Yep, I’m pretty much in my happy place. Belly full o’ a lovely dinner outside at a restaurant near the Tour Eiffel, plus wine & cookies purchased at a shop below our apartment (consumed on a rug beneath the aforementioned landmark). Our apartment is fabulously located and will be great for the week; plenty of beds & amenities. And, um, yeah…Eiffel Tower everywhere you turn with friends with whom you can share the view?
Pretty darn perfect. Honestly, friends showed me photos indicating
the ex was here recently with his girlfriend (far too kind a term, but I digress, in spite of friends encouraging me to just start a “bash the ex” blog…eh, I’ll keep it contained), and that tainted my excitement just a little the past few days. But, really, my company is so, so much better (could I emphasize that more? Probably), & I’m really proud of that. In spite of huge life changes, I haven’t lost sight of who I am, of surrounding myself with people of good character (& many other fab qualities). Again, here’s to good companions & a fantastic first evening. Great night to sit, watch the lights, and chat. Winning, all around.
Bon soir for now! Excited to see what tomorrow brings. I suspect croissants and macarons will make an appearance…

If I hadn’t been in Spain earlier this summer, I would just be green with envy right now. As it is, I’m still a little jealous of your Scandinavian-Parisian adventure. Keep staying in that happy place!
