Wedding Whirlwind.
I left for Champaign-Urbana on Wednesday, excited to combine Ashley & Blake’s nuptials with a reunion with my best friend and alma mater. When I got into town, I grabbed a beer at an old fave (Blind Pig), and when Shelly got off work we went out for dinner at 7 Saints (& each had a half-priced Scotch. I love our old man drink preferences).
I had envisioned a pretty lazy couple of days while Shelly was at work, but my time filled up quickly! Coffee & lunch with Beth, afternoon snack with Jessica, breakfast with Jenna, lunh with my favorite professor and a former labmate. Shelly and I made it to the art theatre for a showing of My Sister’s Sister…and of course made time for wine and cupcakes. Ashley’s wedding venue was beautiful—such a great view of downtown Champaign—and it was wonderful to see her and a few other classmates. And I awesomely got to bring Shelly as my date. Winning!
Jake’s Rockford wedding meant a reunion with two of my Paris partners in crime. We all shared a hotel room and had a very fun night. Jake & Izzy are so lovely together; great to see a friend so happy. So much good food, many drinks. We enjoyed the party bus for
a bit after the ceremony and had some yummy brunch together today before heading home.
Afternoon at the pool + some Chinese food and Breaking Bad and I’m feeling at home. Here’s to five very fun days. Now it’s time to enjoy the end of my summer!
P.S. Both weddings I went to this weekend held already-married couples! Both went to the courthouses earlier to have their own, private vows. So sweet.

Did you go to Stockholm Inn for breakfast?? That is my favorite spot in the Rock!! I feel like you know me a little bit more now.
Yes ma’am! So glad it was a Sarah-approved spot!
I love your one shoulder dress, and I also love Scotch. Clearly you have great taste in both beverages and style.
Thank you! Yay for scotch
So very glad you and Shelly helped us celebrate!! It was great to see you
