Green Sunday: August 8th, 2010

Event: Lunch & Third Ward wandering with Anna and Adam

Outfit: Green dress: General Eccentric (2007); Sandals: Target; Necklace: Assembled by/gift from Anna; Bag: H&M; Belt: Forever 21

After a morning of pancakes & Rock Band it was time to head out into the world. Following a quick photoshoot in this nearby courtyard, we dined at Chili Lili’s, which I highly recommend. You can order half of two chilis if you so wish! I went for that (Buffalo & Vegetarian) and had them over corn bread. DELICIOUS. I’m not a big fan of traditional chili, but this was just so unique and I loved that both my chilis were topped by yummy cheeses (blue & goat). Would be a great bar for evening, too—-many a WI beer offering.

Our next stop was Anthropologie, at Anna’s request. None of my items are on sale yet, so I’ve been STEERING CLEAR (okay, or gazing into the windows longingly every day). Adam came along as we had awesomely received a gift card from my friend Sarah as a thank you for staying with us on Gallery Night weekend. It was earmarked for home goods…no clothing for Elena. 😉 We went with this key hook rack—very excited to hang it up!

Anna was our first overnight visitor since I truly moved in, and I think it was a success! Glad my sister is likin’ Milwaukee—and will just be a bus ride away once she heads back to school in Madison. She might join us for the next Fish Fry & A Flick—-excellent.

As for the outfit, I originally bought this dress for Adam’s 22nd birthday in 2007. We’d only been dating for a couple of months, so it was probably one of the first occasions where I was “the girlfriend” at a big event with his friends. I found this dress in the little shop under my apartment building. It’s since lost a few buttons, but I still like it a lot. As a green-eyed girl, I value green dresses! I also wore it in Mexico, to my cousin’s bridal shower, and for Anna’s and  my 2008 graduation photo shoot, to name a few occasions. The necklace was given to me by Anna for my 23rd birthday and I LOVE it. The three necklaces she put together are one with my initial, one with a unicorn (from Madison), and one with a beautiful, yellow rose locket (with our pictures inside haha).
