Yellow, Tweed, & Whiskey: August 14th, 2010

Event: Night out in Milwaukee

Outfit: Yellow halter/strapless top: General Eccentric (2008); Wool tweed short: Gap; Sandals & Earrings: Target; Belt: Forever 21; Clutch: Payless

So, this is how these three photos went down:

Cue the sound of the buzzer—-friend has arrived at apartment. Unplug hair straightener, run out of bathroom, start putting on sandals while yelling to Adam: GRAB THE CAMERA. IF WE CAN TAKE THE OUTFIT PHOTOS BEFORE HE GETS HERE I’LL LOVE YOU FOREVER. Directed to barstools, pose, take detail shot while friend begins to knock on door/Arwen goes crazy. SCENE. THAT’S A WRAP.

I’ll keep this brief. I have orientation in the morning (eeks!) and car insurance that must be purchased ASAP so am in a bit of a panic-mode. I got ready in under 20 minutes last night, so this outfit was pretty much just thrown on with hopes that it would work out. I enjoy this shirt—it can be worn strapless or as a halter. While wool shorts might seem like an odd choice for August, just by being shorts they felt appropriate. I was comfortable for our 20 minute walk to Whiskey, a downtown club, and our shorter walk to Blackthorne—a new Irish pub. One of Adam’s co-worker friends, Martin, met us at our place and then we all headed out. It was definitely a fun evening. Martin is from Sweden, so we all talked about our travel experiences and enjoyed good scotch/beer. I’m loving life & weekends here. More updates & the weekly round-up soon!

P.S. Regarding the last photo: I need to just full-on smile or look away in photos. Otherwise I look like I’m gettin’ my glare on, which is not my intent, readers. You rock.
