Swedish Meatballs: August 15th, 2010

Event: Swedish dinner by Martin

Outfit: Striped dress: Gap; Sandals: Target; Headband & belt: Forever 21; Pin: Made by Anna; Bag: H&M

These photos were taken in a parking lot on our way home from SWEDISH MEATBALLS night.

Martin, Adam’s co-worker, awesomely invited 5 of us over for a delicious Swedish feast. We had just been told we would get to try Swedish meatballs, but there was an entirely amazing meal (yay for lingonberries!) + crepes and raspberries & cream for dessert. I was in heaven.

It felt so much like traveling abroad—-making a friend who was up for sharing his/her culture with you in the form of cuisine. Previous experiences (aka decadent dinners)  in Barcelona and Oslo primarily come to mind. European-esque evenings in America will have to tide me over for awhile.

I’ve been wearing this dress every week…it’s just so comfy! Adam and I finished a workout right before needing to get ready, so this was my go-to piece for a casual dinner with friends. The purple flower pin by Anna made it just a little bit different/more special.

More very soon…have been getting a bit behind with the whole “starting a job” thing. Please bear with me. 🙂

  2. Oh, yummy! I love the flower pin with the striped dress!

  3. I like how your outfit photos look like stills from a movie. Like you’re the romantic heroine contemplating your next move.

Hooray for Swedish food! I would love to try more someday because most of my experiences with it involve Ikea’s cafeteria.

    • Meeee too, previously! We discuss IKEA a lot with him (I guess in Europe it’s much more seen as the cheap go-to place…which it of course is here, too, but I think has more of a cool, young vibe that also goes with it). We were so excited to see lingonberries….just like IKEA 😀 And thank you so much re: the photos!

  4. These photos are incredible. Adam is so talented. and dinner looks so yummy!!

  5. […] Friday we met up with two of Adam’s co-workers—Martin (of Swedish meatball fame) & Arjan—and hit up Brady Street, land o’ many bars. We started with appetizers, […]
