On A Boat: August 26th, 2010

Event: River cruise for Adam’s work

Outfit: Strapless printed dress: The Limited; Red heels: Chinese Laundry via DSW; Belt: Forever 21; Bag: Simply Vera (courtesy of Mom); Earrings: Courtesy of Trillium Designs; Cuff: Banana Republic, gift from Stephy; Cardigan: Gap (embellishment by Anna!)

Dress previously: here & here

I love an excuse to dress up, so a river cruise with Adam’s company felt like a good enough reason to me (especially once I saw him donning dress pants, my favorite button-down, vest, & tie!). I debated for awhile how to style the dress this go-around, but wound up deciding the red heels got to be the focus. I don’t wear them nearly enough, so when there’s black & white going on I must bust ’em out. I’ve never belted the dress before (and think it’s just fine without one), but felt like adding a little extra somethin’ with the more subtle accessories. I was happy with the end result! The big purse was due to wanting an easily accessible cardigan…needed it once the sun set. And the earrings? They’re the sweet freebie Trillium Designs unexpectedly included in my etsy order last year!

As I’ve said before, it’s very fun getting a taste of corporate life. Free drinks, river cruises, dinners…very awesome. I always like getting to know more of Adam’s co-workers. Everyone was so nice to me, from co-workers our age on up to his bosses. I felt very honored to be included in their events this week (more on Tuesday’s dinner soon…I’m a bit disorganized this week!). Loved seeing Milwaukee’s sites (and our apartment!) from the river.

The cheesecake bites on the dessert plate also won a place in my heart. Obviously.

  2. Damn, Elena, you have been classing it up lately. You just look so sleek and sophisticated, and you’ve been pairing colors oh-so-perfectly. Love this!
