Tweed, Falafel, & Beer: September 3rd, 2010

Event: Night out on Brady Street, Milwaukee

Outfit: Tweed, zippered dress: Urban Outfitters; Suit jacket: Worthington via JCPenney; Sandals: Target; Earrings: Francesca’s; Clutch: Payless

As you can see, I had an adorable constant companion during this outfit post.

On Friday we met up with two of Adam’s co-workers—Martin (of Swedish meatball fame) & Arjan—and hit up Brady Street, land o’ many bars. We started with appetizers, beers, and belly dancers at Casablanca and continued onto Nomad. I’ve mostly just been out in our little neighborhood, so it was great to try out a new part of MKE. I always love discussing Europe vs. American—Friday’s big topic was driving. It sounds far harder to get licensed in their homelands…aka I would not have one (seeing as I can’t drive a manual car or parallel park).

I’ve been dragging this suit jacket around with me all weekend. The temperature suddenly dropped (which I quite enjoy) and I realized a big ole gap in my wardrobe: blazers. Sure, I have plenty of coats…but blazers to guard against chilly temps whilst donning summer-appropriate dresses? Not so much. I’ve wanted a boyfriend-esque blazer for quite some time, and now the hunt must resume. This is the first time I’ve worn my infamous (in my mind) $10 UO dress sans tights, and I wound up diggin’ it. Must be cautious when sitting down, but such is life. I can’t believe it’s almost tights-season again!

Time to get some materials ready for work. Many posts are soon to come, including photos from today’s Midwest Style Blogger Brunch! Hope your long weekend is fantabulous thus far.
