Cathedral & Castle: November 24th, 2010

Event: Wandering Dublin (including Dublin Castle)

Outfit: Sweater: JCrew Factory; Striped tee: Gap; Leggings: Gap Outlet; Boots: Hunter via Zappos; Necklace: The Limited

I know—not very different from my “departure” outfit. But, honestly, I’m proud of myself for packing pretty light for this trip. I started off picturing lots of fabulous looks in Ireland, but comfort/function did win a bit. Remixing definitely went down. You will see skirts/dresses for the rest of the trip, but I wanted to make sure I was cozy enough to walk around outside all day, too.

It was supposed to rain, so I busted out the wellies. It never rained, but oh well. These were actually pretty comfortable for a full day of touring. These photos are from the cathedral attached to Dublin Castle, the grounds of which also hold the Chester Beatty Library. What I loved about this trip? The trip to the castle was really the only “touristy” thing we did during this day. The rest of the day was spent drinking cappucinos, eating carrot cake, shopping (H&M was a fail for me, sadly), dining on gourmet burgers, and finding a cozy pub for a couple of pints. We saw what we wanted to in Dublin, but didn’t feel rushed doing so. Let’s face it—my favorite parts of traveling are finding yummy food (!) and soakin’ up the beautiful scenery.
