Screening Tools: January 7th, 2011

Event: Work

Outfit: Cardigan: JCrew Factory; Blue tee: Gap; Cords: Gap Outlet; Boots: Diba; Necklace: H&M

First up are the more traditional photos from today’s little photo session with the tripod. Further down you’ll see how the shoot commenced: with Arwen trying to sneak into every photo possible (while getting belly rubs at the same time, of course).

Today was both a Friday (duh) and a screening day at work, which meant comfort was key. The early childhood program holds screenings a handful of times throughout the year to screen kids between the ages of three and five to see if they’re appropriate for our program. Typically we see 25ish kids in one morning (luckily there are three of us SLPs to divvy those kids up), but today we only had 12 kids on the docket (with one SLP absent this was especially nice). I enjoy some aspects of these days—getting to meet new adorable kids is always fun—but it can be tricky establishing enough rapport to get through the formal screening tool with a three-year-old in just a couple of minutes. And it’s just a challenge to decide whether a child should be further evaluated based on such a short period of time. Today=pretty smooth sailing, though. And Chipotle was ordered for lunch, so really…a good day. 😉

On the outfit front, this sweater is the bestest. I really need to take it get dry cleaned but SHHHHHH I just had to squeeze one more wear out of it. Zippered pockets=rockin’. Adam and I got back from a yummy dinner out awhile ago (photos to come), and now it’s time to local-beer & nook it up. Loving Girl With the Dragon Tattoo more and more!

Happy Friday night to you!

…And the best photo bomb of all time. Arwen yawns constantly, btw. Loudly. It’s one of her attention-grabbin’ mechanisms (and I hear this is a lab trait).

And here’s Ms. Arwen right now, chillin’ next to me. Such a sleepyheaded cutie-pie.
