Layering Camber: January 25th, 2011

Event: Work

Outfit: Camber dress: Anthropologie; Cardigan: Gap; Belt: Taken from another dress; Boots: Steve Madden; Tights: ?; Scarf: Forever 21; Norwegian currency earrings: Vendor in Madison (gift)

Ah, blue and gold. This scarf really did pull this together for me. I guess I needed a lil’ sunshine.

This dress is not the best layering piece in the world as the draping is EVERYWHERE (awesome when you wear it alone—not so awesome for putting thinner pieces over it). I liked how I layered it in Dublin, with a heftier yet shorter cardigan, but I think my bottom needed some coverage for this context. I suspect working with three-five-year-olds and their parents is not a situation in which you want your look to scream CHECK ME OUT (…especially my draping-swathed booty!), and thus the longer cardigan was called in.

(What, your butt doesn’t yell at people!? Sad.)

Cutting this short in order to get to the gym (foot falling asleep mystery remains unsolved…I loosened the laces a whole lot, but to no avail). Happy Wednesday!

  1. Maybe its the way you step? Have you changed your step recently? Try slowing down to see how your foot is moving to figure out how you’re moving. Good Luck!

  2. cool earrings…love the way you knotted that great gold scarf

  3. That dress is gorgeous on it’s own, but layering for modesty (and five-year-olds) does take priority sometimes! 🙂
