Vegas Part II: January 29th, 2011

Event: Night out in Vegas (dinner, a show, gamblin’)

Outfit: Ruffled dress: Five Hearts Boutique; Necklace: H&M; Tights: Hue via Anthro; Heels: c/o Famous Footwear

What? Two 1AM photos don’t quite measure up to 20 pre-night-out ones?

I am stunned. (Joking aside, thank you so much for your sweet comments! Gosh, you guys make me smile)

Saturday night I was feelin’ pretty under the weather, but I tried to power through. I can’t believe I thought putting these heels on was a good idea for night two (I don’t blame the shoes, but yeah…5″ can only be so comfortable), but luckily we were pretty confined to MGM and cabbed it up there and back. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant with two of Adam’s co-workers and their wives (Adam and I split two pizzas right down the middle and were pretty much in heaven) before we bid adieu to our companions and walked across the hotel to see Crazy Horse. Depends how you feel about racier shows, of course, but I’d recommend it! I wasn’t feeling well enough to check out a club, but we gambled a bit at the casino (with me ordering free bottles o’ water from the servers ha) before heading back to Palms Place. I came to enjoy Blackjack…video version.

I wanted to thank those of you who shared a bit about the marriage of your finances! It’s only fair to return the favor. 🙂 When we moved in together Adam and I kept a lot separate, while being a bit lax on other things (I have always paid for groceries, Adam for utilities, we pretty much switch off on meals/activities out). Since the engagement I think we’ve already adopted a bit of a more “our money” mindset, but things are still pretty separate when it comes to rent, cars, etc. Adam makes significantly more than me, though I’m lucky enough to be student-loan-free. We’ll see. I have a hard time picturing keeping money separate once married outside of perhaps wanting to track my own spending regarding clothing, etc. WHO KNOWS. Still figuring it out! I’m just grateful we can talk about money.

  1. I really like the hoodie/blazer/vest combo, and that dress is fantastic. Your Vegas photos have all be really neat, and it’s nice that you were able to get away from the snow and gloom for a little bit.

  2. Whoa that pizza looks delicious, and you do too of course, it’s just that food is a higher priority for me than clothes 😀

  3. yeah we’re in the same boat. mark makes way more $$$ than me, so he handles all of the utilities. i pay for our phones, groceries and we switch off on putting gas in the car. right now everything is separate (though we have a joint savings account that is mostly empty!).

  4. Aw, sleepy Elena is adorable. 🙂

  5. Okay, I know this is way late, but you look AMAZING! in this dress! I love how you’ve styled it, too, with the dark tights and shoes — it looks just fabulous. Hope you guys had a great trip!

  6. […] dress has previously only been a witness to fancy occasions (NYE last year, night out in Vegas), so I figured it was time for it to experience the 9-5 (or, er, 7:30-3 ;-D) life. Decided to play […]
