Green Chicago: March 12th, 2011

Event: Day in Milwaukee with Sara & Adam + birthday celebration in Chicago

Outfit: Dress: MissMe via Flirt; Stud earrings: Urban Outfitters; Not pictured: Maroon tights: We Love Colors; Boots: Diba

I woke up at a normal hour on Saturday to begin the process of becoming human (aka having Adam kindly bring us water and Advil) and then started making us all chocolate chip pancakes just shy of noon (at which point Sara woke up and deemed it a success that it was still morning). Many cups of coffee were downed before we showered and headed to the Public Market for some delicious food. I have been craving salads from Green Kitchen pretty darn frequently—the salad bar options are endless! After Sara, Adam, and I market-ed it up us ladies split off to check out a Jaxie trunk show at Miss Ruby’s. The accessories weren’t what I was looking for (though very lovely!), but the free pink lemonade cupcakes and champagne were a win. Ooh-and we discovered an amazing boutique I know has been recommended to me before—Fred. Must, must go back when I have more funds.

On the evening’s agenda was our friend Geoff’s 25th birthday celebration in Chicago (at Wise Fools Pub). We first stopped off at Adam’s parents’ to drop off the puppy and eat some pizza. Confession: while I knew the river was dyed green on Saturday, it slipped my mind that the city would be full of Irish celebrating. What can I say, I’m neither Irish or Chicagoan. Hence…nary a shamrock in sight. No worries; we still certainly celebrated! It was a very fun night—so many friends from U of I + a lot of Adam’s friends from high school. We drank, we danced, we sang, we may have inconveniently wound at a police checkpoint in the suburbs proving our driver’s sobriety (no worries, sobriety completely true…we are all about designated drivers!).

P.S. Adam’s been making sweet DIY photo gear projects, hence the lighting in these photos. You can read more about it here!
