Everybody, Everywear—Maxi: 2010/2011

Maxi dress: Gap (2010)

So, per ALWAYS, I completely dropped the ball on participating in this month’s Everybody, Everywear. However, Heather told me it was also acceptable to post a previous look fitting the description…so voila! I present a maxi-dress retrospective (with the three such dresses I own….oh how I want skirts!). I submitted the look above to EBEW as it’s the most seasonally current/roughly how I would’ve actually styled this dress today, but let’s take a trip to down memory lane. I’ll confess this is one trend I never thought I’d embrace. HOW WRONG YOU WERE, SELF. Just this weekend I lusted after a maxi skirt at Zara. Honestly am kind of regretting not just shelling out the $40 and taking it home with me. Grrr. Next time.

  1. Love all your dresses and how you styled them so many different ways… my favorite is the flowered one. Now that I have tried the skirt, I am hunt the hunt for a dress!!

  2. I love how you make the maxi so versatile. I used to look at it as a summer garment only, but adding a blazer (or vest—I love that one!) makes it work for so many other occasions and temperatures.

  3. I’m still seriously loving that picture with the arrow. It’s perfectly shot and you look gorgeous. I’m constantly inspired by your many ways of wearing the maxi, ebew or not. And also, any maxi with an Arwen next to it is ten times cooller than one without, so if it were a winning game (I learn this speak from a small child) you win the maxi challenge by a landslide. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I LOVE the striped maxi with the vest, it really breaks up the dress and adds shape.

  5. Nice maxis and that doggie is too cute! ๐Ÿ˜€

P.S: Iยดm giving away a $100 beauty gift card for YSL, Chanel… etc products. Wanna join in on the fun? ;D

  6. I adore all three of your maxies!

  7. I’m so glad you decided to submit something! I haven’t been able to really embrace it yet, but when I do, I’ll definitely be looking here for inspiration since you’ve done such versatile things with yours.

  8. I’m glad you joined in. Maybe next time I will tweet you day and night to remind you ๐Ÿ˜‰
