Decadent Tuesday: July 5th, 2011

Event: Pizza/wine dinner with friends

Outfit: Dress & headband: Target; Belt: Forever 21; Sandals: Fred Boutique (Frederic’s Collection); Bag: H&M; Zipper necklace: flea market

Today was a decadent, lovely Tuesday

After our very late night o’ girl talk, Danielle and I started getting ready for lunch around 11 this morning I was so excited to introduce her to the newest restaurant in our neighborhood, Cafe Benelux (Mindy met us there, too!). If you’re in MKE, I can’t recommend the food & views enough. I think the service still has some kinks to work out, but I’ll take the rooftop seating any day. This was the first time I’ve gone there and not had to wait for a table—yay for an early weekday lunch out! I can never seem to resist ordering the sweet potato fries with some sort of dip (today’s= siracha mayo). After lunch Danielle and I hit up her favorite MKE boutique—Fred—-and I couldn’t resist these sandals. Bronze, laced-up, snakeskin…definitely unique! I’m usually a $15-sandals-from-Target girl, so I felt alright spending a bit more on one pair this summer.

Adam took a half day, so when he got back from the gym we headed back outside to keep him company while he refueled at Charlie’s (and each enjoyed a beer). It was quite the food&friend-packed day—-9 of us later dined at Riverfront Pizzeria, splitting 4 massive and heavenly pizzas. New favorite? The Harborfront, which was completely rockin’ the pesto/basil (formaggio di capra & Thai chicken are also high on my list). Admittedly, every day is pretty much a “weekend day” for me right now*, but it felt very luxurious to be sipping a glass of Chardonnay alongside so many good people, just staring at the river and relaxing for hours. Tuesday night WIN.

*Just wanted to update you all as you were so kind and supportive regarding my Anthropologie interviews. We were supposed to hear back (acceptance or rejection) last week and I have yet to hear anything at all. I sent a thank you note following the interview, but I may call this week just to, well, confirm that I obviously didn’t get it. Oh, well. Will just enjoy a summer o’ wedding planning and volunteering 🙂
