Sequin My Stripes: August 30th, 2011

Event: Work, trivia

Outfit: Striped/sequined shirt: JCrew Factory; Skirt: Zara; Sandals: Target

Sequins, stripes, pewter pleats. I liked this look.

From a practical point of view, this skirt is the perfect length for putting crying kids on your lap and having zero worries about modesty. Don’t worry, 4-year-olds find me hilarious; the crying ceased. More accurately, they find fish toys than will puff air on their noses to be hilarious. Tuesday also held my first meeting over at one of the nearby private schools, which my (public school) district is servicing this year. Thinking about how that will fit into my schedule/life overwhelms me, but here’s hoping all goes well. Haven’t gotten to speak to the other (very small) private school yet to discuss when I’ll make it there. I’m a public school girl through and through, so it’s a whole new world.

And, yes, I cut off the top of my own head in these photos. Mad skillzzzz, peeps. Mad skills.

P.S. One thing from Tuesday’s menu? This avocado/black bean salad. Yum.

P.P.S. We nabbed 2nd place at trivia this week ($25). I think I’ll credit my apparent knowledge of types o’ ducks and bunnies. And metronomes. Winning.
