Dressing Room: Anthropologie

Today on my Friday off (WHEEEE!), I decided it was time to wander into Anthropologie. I pretty much never “happen” to buy things there. I try on dresses I wind up loving, watch the sales for 4+ months, and THEN buy. It can be a little ridiculous, but it’s worked out every single time. If I ever buy something full price at Anthropologie, I promise to share it with you (…I’ll assume it would be a pretty darn epic item). I went in especially wanting to try on this gorgeous dress. Fell completely in love with it.

Annnnnd let the sales stalking begin! I do wish it were on sale now—would be such a pretty bridal shower option (but that’s already been covered, so no worries!). A few other items I liked are below. Still dying to try on this penguin-print blouse!

1. Veiled Alder Dress, $298

Ah—so pretty! As you can see, “dark grey” is a very odd choice for describing the color. It’s more of a pale dove grey, practically cream. In the reviews I saw some complaints about the zipper being awful and the slip being complicated—I did not experience either of these issues at all (and, trust me, I have been confused by many an under-layer). The comments re: the chest being tight on some I could see. For me it felt a little snug, but not in a bad way. This was a size 8, so TTS. I love, love, loved it!$300 is nowhere near being in my budget, so I’ll keep an eye on it!

2. Twin Tiered Top, $88

The details on the sleeves made me want to take this home! I first tried it in a medium and thought it looked a little too snug. The large was a little large. Sooooo if I nabbed this on the salesracks I’d probably want to try out my options again. Knowing I’d want it as a work option, perhaps I’d go with the large. Runs a little small. I do love Deletta’s curve-hugging designs…but I need to keep considering my Monday-Friday outfits when making purchases!

3. Crumpled Placket Cardigan, $88

SO COZY. The cozy (yet chic) cardigans/sweaters I go for wind up being my most worn pieces, year after year. So this cardigan—or one like it—will probably make its way home with me very soon. This was a medium. It fit, but I’d probably try on a large, too, before buying. When I’m going for cozy I’m sometimes on board with a little extra room.

4. Shirr & Pleat Pencil Skirt, $138

Lovely pencil skirt. It has a faux slit in the back that allows for a little more give (which I can always use at work). I grabbed a 10, and it worked well. Runs a little small (though, as I’m usually between an 8 and 10, I wouldn’t put too much stock in that). Pink & grey together is another combination I love (though, yep, grey and yellow will always be my number 1!).
