Awesomely funded by our madre, we had a sister-date on the books for today! My mom wanted me to have a full weekend, so she suggested a shopping date awhile ago. Lara Miller’s (who Anna interned for 2 summers ago) sale was going on, so we took the metra/el over to her studio and scoped out the lovely goods. Neither of us took anything home, but that meant I got to spend some guilt-free $$ at a used bookstore we stumbled upon. Nabbed myself some new (to me) Dave Eggers/McSweeney’s and a few Christmas gifts.

Katherine and Sarah live right in the area, and we all went out to eat at Rise Sushi & Saki Lounge. I have lots o’ pad thai waiting for me in the fridge (always a good thing). After the long train ride home, Anna sprinted into CVS so we could have a couple beers to accompany our late-night TV viewing. We like a good mission.

P.S. I know, stripes 2 days in a row. Don’t worry. I do a lot of laundry. You can question my creativity (seriously, I just seem to love this skirt with stripes of whatever color), but never worry about the hygiene. 😉
