Another 5K under my belt!

This one was a St. Paddy’s race in Deer Park, which pretty much wound up meaning that we ran around the mall. Luckily, it was a gorgeous day, so still a very enjoyable experience. Sarah and I eagerly signed up when the race was set for beautiful Long Grove, so the change of venue was a bit of a bummer. But hey—I’ll give the relatively flat course and all paved paths some credit for a new PERSONAL RECORD! Woot woot! Came in just under 29 minutes for the first time: 28:49!

We went out to breakfast at Long Grove Cafe after breakfast with our cheerleaders aka moms. A little taste testing at the Olive Tap followed. I am so NOT a morning person and can be found lazing in bed until 11am on many a weekend morning, but sometimes it feels awesome to have worked out and dined before then! Even with the loss of an hour, we rocked you, March 11th!

  1. Congrats on the personal record! That Olive Tap place looks awesome. I never knew there were so many varieties of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

  2. Good job! I haven’t done a race in a long time, you post made me think I should sign up to do one soon!
