NYC Night: March 23rd, 2012

Event: Night out in Chelsea

Outfit: Tank: Old Navy; Black jeans: Apt 9 via KOHL’S; Sequin jacket: Calvin Klein via T.J. Maxx; Wedges: borrowed from Anna; Necklace: gift

Annnnnd let the NYC/NJ recapping commence (with some dorm-hallway posing)!

Such a fun trip. I didn’t make it to Anna until almost 11pm on Friday, so—after the quick walk to her dorm from Penn station and a 15-minute freshening up session—we headed right out for margaritas and French fries with her roommate at Dallas BBQ. Yum. Next stop: a rooftop bar, 230 Fifth, which had an incredible view of the city. Sipped a beer, got hit on by Europeans, and then moved along. Next bar we had wanted was closing, so…

…We went and got “dinner” at 3:30am. And this is when NYC started to feel really different from other cities. We went to Cafeteria, a very classy restaurant with great service (so different from having, er, only pizza as your late-night option). I went with a turkey burger (wanted the avocado & bacon on top; the usual) and Anna got some ridiculous mac ‘n’ cheese wontons. Then the couple next to us ordered 2 desserts and didn’t touch one…and offered us their red velvet cake on the way out.

I never say no to red velvet cake. It’s a life rule.

And then we hit the hay. More soon! I have a busy morning tomorrow and then am planning a pretty lowkey weekend to round out Spring break. Happy Friday!

  1. It looks like you had a fabulous time! I’ve never made to NYC, but it’s on my list of places to visit before kids. Hopefully I’ll make a trip up soon!
